Experienced Workbased Learning Manager to work for a well-established training provider covering the West Midlands region

Salary £29,000 - £35,000 + mileage + excellent company benefits

To manage operational performance for the operational teams to ensure company performance targets are realised.

Key responsibilities:

  • To manage a team of team leaders/Internal Quality Assurers to ensure operational performance is in-line with company expectation
  • Implement and monitor quality orientated procedures and processes
  • To ensure contractual compliance across all aspects of delivery
  • To satisfy budget requirements

Key duties:

  • Monitor individual assessor, tutor and team leader performance and provide support and guidance to optimise potential
  • In conjunction with team leaders to ensure learners behind plan is maintained at less than 3%
  • In conjunction with team leaders, ensure learner achievement is in-line with government performance targets
  • In conjunction with team leaders, ensure learner and health and safety reviews (vetting/monitoring) are undertaken in line with company policy
  • Review performance reports and undertake relevant action to address under performance and/or non-compliance
  • Undertake PDPs in line with company practice
  • Agree and set performance targets and personal objectives, on a periodic basis, to satisfy both personal advancement and company goals
  • Ensure all team members undertake training to satisfy both statutory requirements and personnel development
  • Ensure team members are conversant with company policies and procedures and ensure compliance
  • Participate in and chair team and company meetings
  • Ensure team members are resourced to facilitate effective training
  • Monitor under performance and undertake remedial action where appropriate
  • Ensure performance satisfies revenue and cost targets contained within team budget
  • To produce periodic performance reports, as directed by your line manager
  • Investigate and take action on customer complaints
  • Undertake projects and initiatives as directed by location manager
  • Initiate and manage new business initiatives
  • Participate in and support the annual self-appraisal review
  • Ensure adherence to funding body, inspectorate and awarding body procedures
  • Maintain and develop internal and external communications
  • Contribute to sustainability and becoming a global citizen
  • Ensure that colleagues and learners are safeguarded against all types of bullying or abuse

Essential Criteria:

  • Extensive working knowledge of the work based learning sector
  • Experience of line management in the work based learning sector
  • Organisational skills and a sound attention to detail
  • Competent numeracy skills
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • A1 assessor award
  • V1 verifier award
  • Management level 4 or equivalent
