An exciting opportunity has arisen within an 'Outstanding' special needs school in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. They are currently seeking an experienced teacher to work as a satellite via a mainstream school within the borough.

A Satellite Teacher's responsibilities are to teach a higher functional class of children with autism, all of which are not in a position to attend full-time at a specialist school. Each student is working along side the national curriculum, though at a lower academic level. They will integrate with the rest of the mainstream site during break and lunch times, as well as PE, Music and Drama.

This specific class consists of six children between the ages of 13 and 16. Progression reports will be fed back to the special needs school and from there it will be determined to what other additional support is needed. This partnership allows access to the specialist facilities and resources within the borough.

Experience with autism is essential and the ability to devise a range of lesson plans for all individual abilities. Experience within an SEND school would be desirable but not essential, however similar roles within mainstream will be considered.

You MUST hold a full QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), therefore please refrain from applying if you do not meet the necessary requirements.
