Job Description

As the Staff Nurse you will be responsible for providing high quality nursing through assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating care for patients within the Day Surgery Unit. You will work effectively within the team, supervising, coaching and developing junior staff and deputising for the Senior Nursing team when necessary, as well as being confident working independently.

Salary £31,630 - £35,822 + 4% shift enhancement

Hour’s : 37.5 hrs -No nights

Duties & Responsibilities
Assess, plan and deliver care, based on individual patient and family needsDrive high standards of care, assisting with promoting development initiatives and assisting with coaching and development of the teamUndertake extended roles such as IV cannulation and phlebotomyProvide patients and families with information regarding the care and management of their conditionCarry out nursing duties as requested by senior staff

Skills & Experience
RGN with valid NMC PINStrong registration experience within a surgical settingExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalStrong time management and prioritization skillsPhlebotomy skills are desirable

The successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills with people from a wide variety of backgrounds. They will be able to work in a multi-cultural setting, adaptable to working alone or with different groups, and be able to liaise with professionals at all levels. The successful candidate will have excellent time management and presentation skills.
