An exciting new opportunity has arisen to work with a leading global provider of industrial automation, drive and control technology. Due to increased demand and ongoing success they are looking to take on a Mechanical Design Engineer to focus on their aluminium framing and production cell business from their site in Cirencester, Gloucestershire.

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of manufacturing processes, design for manufacture (DFM) and an ability to produce hand calculations and computational simulations to support their designs.

Main Responsibilities:
• Producing quotations and engineering systems
• Providing superior service in a timely, cost-effective and resource-efficient way
• Producing assembly/detail drawings of frame guards, conveyor systems and custom aluminium assemblies
• Dealing with internal and external customers onsite and at customers’ premises

Key Skills & Experience:
The ideal person will have:
• A creative mind with good problem solving skills
• A good understanding of business processes
• Continuous Improvement experience
• A clear understanding of ISO standards and their use in engineering based applications
• An eye for detail, and an ability to transfer knowledge and support more junior members within the team is a must
• Familiar with SolidWorks and Enterprise PDM with a high level of experience in 3D modelling (particularly of parts and complex assemblies)
• Qualified to a minimum of HNC (or equivalent)
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Automotive Engineering
• An appreciation of SAP would be advantageous (the role will have the option to develop into the engineering SAP Key User for the department)
