As part of an already existing team, you'll need to adopt their ways of working, whilst also applying your own methods of practice to your daily tasks. This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse who enjoys new challenges and wants to take their career a step further. You'll be responsible for organising and managing your time to ensure your patients receive the best level of care from you. The post holder will have an interest and understanding of physical health and care and take responsibility for the planning, delivery, and evaluation of care to a designated group of patients detained under the Mental Health Act. You'll have excellent time management and organisational skill, along with a confident and approachable personality. As this role deals directly with patients from a range of backgrounds, you'll find it easy to communicate with a variety of people and have high levels of patience, especially when working under pressure. To be perfect for this role, you must have: Diploma/Degree in Nursing RGN/RMN or RNLD Practice within the scope of NMC code of conduct Willing to work 12 hour shift patterns including nights when required Care driver with current,valid, driving licence Duties: Identify patient care requirements by establishing a personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements. Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families. Promote patient’s independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patient, friends, and family to understand the condition, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions. Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following hospital and nursing division’s philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations. Resolve patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.
