What You'll Do Cisco Umbrella engineers develop next-generation technologies to secureour customers from a wide range of security threats, malware andinappropriate content. We pioneered the SaaS model in security, and havealready launched massively scaled products that are changing the way ourcustomers protect themselves and their users. With Datacenters distributed around the world, Cisco operates at ascale that few other SaaS providers can match. Our Cisco Umbrellaproducts scans billions of web requests every day and applies a range ofDNS filtering, heuristics, machine learning, categorization andfiltering technology to safeguard against attack. We grow as the webgrows, so the challenge is constant. You will be expected to participatein On-call for services you build.Who You'll Work With Our team is responsible for scanning customer web traffic for malware.Our highly scalable systems scan hundreds of millions of web requestseveryday. We integrate different AV engines, as well as develop our owndetection engine using machine learning. We also work with OpenDNSsecurity research teams (part of Cisco) to develop innovative security technologies.Who You AreEssential skills/experience: Extensive experience as a either System Engineer or DevOps Engineer, with BSc degree in CS/CE/IT or equivalent. Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux system administration, configuration and tuning. Experience designing, operating and troubleshooting large scale distributed systems in a 24x7 production environment Good understanding of WAN, LAN, TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, HTTPS, DNS; experience with traffic captures. Working Knowledge of Container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with AWS technologies such as EC2, S3 and DynamoDB. Experience with Continuous Integration tools like e.g. Jenkins. Experience with health/performance monitoring and load automation Experience in one or more of the following: Java, Python, Go. Degree in Computer Science or related field Desirable skills: Experience in any data warehousing technologies like MapR, Hadoop, Oracle, Kafka, Vertica, SQL. Experience with data visualisation tools like Kibana and ElasticSearch. Experience with or understanding of cloud computing e.g. IaaS, PaaS, SaaS etc. Experience in real-time traffic testing (firewalls, port forwarding, etc.). Interest in security and malware detection.
