To manage the resources allocated to the roads maintenance service for the Falkirk Council area, including complaint handling, winter service and asset management thereby providing an effective community liaison and response service for all allocated functions.

The post holder will be educated to degree standard with membership of an approved professional body desirable, experience of working at a senior level in a local government environment is essential as is the ability to manage and motivate employees.

The post holder requires technical skills in relation to roads maintenance together with a knowledge of asset management principles and experience in managing winter maintenance operations.

The provision of this service is a high profile matter and attracts public scrutiny at all times. The service is therefore required to be flexible, innovative and reactive to public demands and pressures. The effectiveness of service delivery can affect the public's confidence in the provision of Council Services.
