We have an exciting contract opportunity within our VMWare and Windows Server Team based in our Bradford Head Office. This position will have responsibility for the installation, configuration and support of both development and production VMware and Windows Server infrastructures.

What you'll be doing:

Tasks will include:
  • Installation, configuration and upgrades of VMWare and Windows Server infrastructures
  • Support of major projects from development through to transition into live
  • General day to day BAU activities including fault diagnosis and implementation of change
  • Creation of technical documentation
  • Infrastructure design
The Knowledge & Skills you’ll have:
  • A proven background in the design, installation, configuration and support of Microsoft Windows Server operating system solutions including detailed exposure and knowledge of all revisions of the Microsoft Server Operating System currently in use by the YBS Group
  • A proven background in the installation, configuration and support of VMware ESX based server virtualisation solutions
  • Experience of managing Enterprise server based application software
  • Experience in the use of scripting technologies
  • A solid understanding of performance monitoring and tuning techniques in Windows and VMware based environments combined with an appreciation of the importance of regular and accurate capacity management
  • A proven track record in the diagnosis and resolution of complex technical problems
  • An appreciation of Storage replication technologies
  • Exposure to Microsoft SQL Server
  • Knowledge of Server hardware preferably including HP c7000 BladeSystem, Proliant Xeon Servers (Standalone & Blade)
  • An excellent working knowledge of TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting including DNS, Active Directory, routing, IP port allocation, interoperability with firewalls and load balancer devices
  • The ability to use a wide range of communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and the ability to prioritize tasks appropriately
  • A proven ability to develop and maintain high quality documentation
  • A broad understanding of Service Management principles
