An opportunity for a high calibre PhD graduate to join a highly regarded environmental risk assessment team. Your PhD will have been in a numerate scientific discipline e.g. chemistry, maths, biology, toxicology, ecotoxicology (or similar) and you must have a passion for understanding the behaviour, fate and effects of chemicals in the environment. The risk assessment team supports the development and defence of chemical products and active substances. You will work on a mix of projects including complex problem solving and large development / registration projects. You will be involved in all aspects of projects including providing expert advice, data gap analysis, sourcing data, study monitoring, exposure analysis, modelling and application of bespoke higher tier risk assessment techniques. You will investigate both effects, fate and behaviour of chemical compounds in the environment.

Applications are invited from candidates with a recently / soon to be completed PhD and a passion for understanding the behaviour, fate and effects of chemicals in the environment.You must have strong skills in numeracy, knowledge of mathematical data analysis and principles of modelling, critical thinking and problem-solving ability, strong analytical skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ideally you will have some relevant experience of environment fate modelling / the fate and behaviour of chemical compounds in the environment. However, a comprehensive and ongoing training programme will be provided. An excellent start to your career.
