You will also undertake data analyses and interpretations, literature review and searches for individual projects, write scientific justifications and explanations to justify product use as safe (or otherwise) and coordinate and monitor the placement of environmental studies with external contract laboratories. You will help to maintain and build the team’s scientific credibility in environmental fate and behaviour and environmental risk assessment by attending conferences and face-to-face meetings and, keep up to date with current EU chemical legislation and relevant guidance documents.

Applications are invited from candidates with an MSc or PhD in a numerate scientific discipline e.g. chemistry, maths, biology (or similar) along with experience of computer simulation modelling and/or experience in environmental fate and behaviour and/or ecotoxicology of chemicals, preferably in a regulatory context. Ideally you will have a good understanding of risk assessment approaches, an understanding of the data requirements for the models along with the ability to interpret data.
