We’re looking for an experienced Software Developer to join our team and support our business systems function by producing creative software solutions to business problems, driving quality into processes and improving efficiency in support of our network of hostels and central services teams.

Key Role Responsibilities:

* To develop new and maintain existing applications which deliver solutions to business problems and improve process efficiency
* To maintain and develop integrations between internal and externally facing applications (including websites and third party systems)
* To deliver solutions that meet the needs of the business, on an incremental (agile) basis, ensuring that the minimum viable product is delivered as soon as possible
* To work closely with stakeholders to identify their requirements, collaborate throughout development and support them through testing and launch of solutions
* To develop and support Intranet functionality that facilitates communication and access to information within YHA
* To provide Out of Hours support as required (cover on a rotational basis)

Person specification:

* 3 years’ experience of software development in C#/ASP.NET and MVC 4.0/4.5 - essential
* Designing and developing databases in Microsoft SQL Server - essential
* HTML, CSS, jQuery/Javascript skills - essential
* Developing and consuming RESTful web services
* Managing applications in IIS
* Experience of administering Company Intranet/Content Management Systems - preferred
* Knowledge of Agile development methodology - desirable
