IT Portfolio Planning & Resourcing PMO Analyst - Reading

We are looking for an IT Portfolio Planning & Resourcing PMO Analyst to join a major utilities company in Reading, currently undergoing a transformation of its IT service and support landscape. This entails significant change across all major IT lines of service and includes the stand up of an in-house capability based around Service Integration and Management.

The IT Portfolio Planning & Resourcing PMO Analyst will be responsible for resource management covering the utilisation, allocation, on-boarding and off-boarding of the portfolio office resources. You will collaborate with other key stakeholders to manage a proactive resourcing view of the pooled resources; engage with the appraisal / PDR process to capture capability updates to ensure alignment with new initiatives in the portfolio plan and support the portfolio planning process to ensure that inflight, pipeline and predictive programme and project demand is fully understood, planned and visualised for senior management.

This role will progress internally into a full Demand & Portfolio Planning career path for those wishing to grow in this area.

IT Portfolio Planning & Resourcing PMO Analyst responsibilities:

- Manage collection the requirements of the Pooled Resources

- Ensure the resource profiles are pro-actively resourced to allow for the delivery of the portfolio plan

- Scrutinise and challenge resourcing requirements appropriately

- Facilitate the resourcing process including raising of PAWS, PO's and extension and termination of contract

- Allocate resource based on requirements of planned portfolio initiatives

- Ensure updates of competency reviews are embedded into the resource management process,

- Responsible for the off-boarding of pooled and portfolio office resources

- Ensure input into the resource management reporting

- Analyse and provide insight into the utilisation of the resources

- Provide guidance to users (Process and procedures)

- Responsible for the Programme Delivery resources to completion of timesheets and their approval

- Support ‘what-if-analysis' for additional demand into the portfolio,

- Prepare for resource management meetings with HR and agency staff

IT Portfolio Planning & Resourcing PMO Analyst skills and experience:

- Strong interest in project delivery and controls

- Understanding of project delivery methodologies

- Demonstrates the ability to engage and communicate persuasively with a broad range of stakeholders, up to and including board level

- Experience of Project Management or Project Delivery, working within a Portfolio team

- Relevant Qualification/Certification e.g. Prince2, MSP Practitioner, P3O, PMP or alternative

- Technical: Advanced Excel, MS Office and use of SharePoint
