Sewell Wallis have a fantastic opportunity for a newly created role of a Financial Accountant to join their fast growing manufacturing business based in Doncaster.

You will have responsibility for the financial accounting and associated reporting functions and internal controls, ensuring compliance with corporate policies, regulatory and government filings.

*Establish the Finance Team as a true ‘business partner’; integrate them into the business and provide real value through the provision of quality, timely and accurate information, highlighting issues and trends.
*Challenge the status quo across the business, ensuring that decisions are well founded and provide a constructive counterbalance to strategic ideas.
*Pursue continual improvement of the financial processes including systems development and implementation.
*Preparation of the statutory accounts under IFRS.
*Preparation of tax computations and agreement with tax partners.
*Control of VAT, Intrastat and National Statistics reporting.
*Lead corporate governance, issues and reporting.
*Check and sign off payroll processing with HR.
*Communicate with the finance team by holding regular formal and informal meetings and ensures that all Company and departmental communications are effectively disseminated to, and understood by all staff.
*Manage the performance of the team through the use of training and development activities, coaching and mentoring etc. Provide training on departmental policies and procedures and liaise with other departments to provide cross-functional training where required.

Person Spec:
*Qualified accountant with experience gained in a strong financially controlled environment.
*A thorough and up to date knowledge of maintaining all aspects of financial discipline including tax, treasury, financial accounting, all statutory and regulatory matters.
*Experience of working capital cost control.
*Analytical and rigorous approach with high level of attention to detail.
*Proven people management experience Good understanding of financial management and maintaining effective internal controls.
