Are you a graduate looking for school-based experience to support your future career as a Teacher, SENCO, School Counsellor or Educational Psychologist?

Do you work well and stay calm in challenging situations and do you think you have what it takes to support disadvantaged students as a Graduate Behaviour Mentor in a school setting?

Within the role of Graduate Behaviour Mentor you will need to be able to connect with troubled students and strike the perfect balance with them to ensure they can progress on both an academic and pastoral level.

- Graduate Behaviour Mentor role in Thurrock, Essex - accessible school easily reached by both road and rail
- Position initially contracted on full-time basis (term-time only) from September 2018 to July 2019
- Supporting disadvantaged students with behavioural difficulties
- £60.00 - £75.00 per day, paid weekly (dependent on experience)
- A degree is required along with GCSEs of grade C or above in Maths, English or Science
- Previous experience of working with children or young people is preferred particularly those with additional needs and/or SEBD

As a Graduate Behaviour Mentor you need to believe in providing opportunities for students to become independent and well-rounded individuals ready to embrace all that life has to offer. You will develop and implement strategies that can remove the barriers to learning that have hindered their progress up to now. You will need to be a patient and resilient individual as working as a Graduate Behaviour Mentor can be extremely challenging.

Within this role the appointed Graduate Behaviour Mentor will work supporting student’s across the school with their behaviour and learning, both inside and outside of the classroom. This role will primarily a class based position though the appointed individual will also be required to deliver 1:1 and intervention sessions. A relevant degree either in a core subject or Psychology could prove incredibly beneficial for this position, though candidates from any background will be considered.
