Protocol are recruiting on behalf of a FE college for an experienced Manager within the MIS area.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, Planning & Funding and managing a team of 7; the post holder will be responsible for the leadership and management of learner functions, including funding and compliance, for the information learner records (ILR).

Main Responsiblities
- To work in conjunction with other Data and Information Specialists in external bodies ensuring there is a full understanding of the funding methodology and advising managers about the implications for the College.
- To liaise effectively with external Contract and Relationship Managers from funding agencies and planning authorities and reporting the impact of such changes to CMT to ensure the College is well informed and responds to key changes that will impact on the College.
- To be responsible for producing timely and accurate internal and external reports to inform decision making and fulfil the statutory and audit requirements.
- Responsible for preparation and submission of the Individualised Learner Record (ILR) at specified times throughout the academic year.
- To represent the College locally and nationally at regular external events such as Funding Agency events and Local and National Planning Networks
- To contribute to the curriculum planning process and support the introduction of any relevant changes as a result of changes within the curriculum.
- To keep abreast of developments in funding methodologies, data protection legislation, recording and reporting systems to ensure statutory, regulatory, and key audit and operational issues related to the management of information are adhered to and communicated effectively.
- To liaise and work collaboratively with Curriculum teams to ensure the learner needs are met within the remit of the service.
- Develop and maintain competence in and detailed knowledge of funding methodologies and the requirements of funding agency data returns. This includes data validation, funding calculation and forecasting as well as use of audit and monitoring software.
- Develop and maintain competence in and detailed knowledge of requirements of awarding bodies for EDI, learner registration, mechanisms for submission and verification of results. This will include data extraction and formatting.
- Extract, validate and format student and/or curriculum data to prepare files and reports for critical dates / deadlines including funding claims
- Respond in a timely manner to requests from college managers, funding stakeholders and
departments for data extracts / information
- Ensure technology is used effectively and appropriately to streamline operations, co-operating with LIS development staff, Estates and IT
- Manage staff in Student Records and Exams: this includes meeting regularly, monitoring quality and efficiency, setting appropriate objectives and conducting performance reviews
- Maintain course master file
- Ensure all data is kept and stored securely and effectively. This extends to future mechanisms for document management / archive and retrieval.
- Ensure operational procedures are documented and maintained.
- To ensure that the Department Service standards are delivered and appropriate for all stakeholders
