Sheridan Maine are recruiting on behalf of a key client who are seeking an experienced Senior Credit Controller to join their high energy and fast paced finance team, working within the Business Services market. This company have a well established brand and are looking for candidates to support them as they continue to grow organically.

The key purpose of the role is to ensure Key Finance ledgers are reconciled and issues resolved ahead of Financial Year End and to ensure all accounting transactions and cash payments are processed accurately and to required timelines. You are accountable for the timely collection / clearance of outstanding debt, effective management of the Sales Ledger and accurate and timely processing of all accounting and cash transactions, retaining auditable back-up.

Key duties:

- All manual payments to be processed to timetable and adequate back up and supporting evidence retained
- All daily cash receipts and payments posted correctly into Oracle
- Manual credits and nvoices raised as requested by business areas
- All incoming calls handled to an expected level of efficiency and issues resolved to the agreed time period
- All new accounts set up within SLA, ensuring all necessary documentation obtained and scanned on to mainframe system
- Responsible for the effective running of the weekly payment process, identifying accounts in which payment should be held or Invoices brought forward
- Chase outstanding debt via telephone or mail to ensure all current debts are collected from clients in a timely manner
- Own the relationship with our legal support team to maximize aged debt recovery
- Identify any imminent or potential risk on the Accounts and advise Senior Management

Knowledge and Skills:

- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to interrogate complex data
- Customer Service approach
- Ability to work well under pressure and deal effectively with challenging customers
- Excellent communicator and influencer at all levels
- Experience of Oracle or similar accounting and customer service systems
- Must have solid Credit Control experience

This role would suit someone with a can-do attitude who is a driven individual who welcomes change. You must have the ability to manage multiple complex deliverables and have the desire to root out problems and resolve at source.
