A leading client based in Manchester has a permanent vacancy for a Network & Telecoms Technician to implement and maintain technology and communications services to meet the operational requirements.
* Maintain close working relationship with Desktop Support team to identify and resolve interruptions to services
* Work, in conjunction with Business Applications section, to identify communications requirements for user community
* Maintain and support effective network and server infrastructure services
* Maintain operational ITIL compliant processes that support the delivery of IT services
* Contribute to, and work towards, agreed Forward Work Programs
* Communications network management experience
* Project implementation experience
* Good knowledge of PC based networks and office software
* Working knowledge of various access methods including cable modems, DSL, fibre optics, leased circuits, satellite and wireless
* Strong working knowledge of current VoIP technologies and their implementation
* Experience of providing IT support in a customer facing environment
* Experience of research and development of new technologies
Skills
* Demonstrable understanding of relevant communications network technologies
* Educated to ‘A’ Level or Equivalent
* ITIL Foundation
* Cisco Network Fundamentals
Desirable
* Formal qualifications in relevant communications network technologies
* MCSE
* Cisco foundation (CCENT)
* Cisco CNNA
