Due to significant growth our client is looking to recruit a Sales Ledger Assistant to join their team. As the Sales Ledger Assistant you will be responsible for ensuring all sales invoices are raised in a timely and accurate manner, maintain a low level of debt and ensure accurate reporting to the Contracts Managers / Senior Management team.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain an up to date database of contracts and variations
• Producing and submitting invoices and statements in a timely manner
• Ensure that the additional / quoted works are invoiced correctly
• Check client / customer credit ratings
• Ensure monthly processing deadlines are met
• Carry out credit control and reporting activities according to specific deadlines.
Processing ad hoc invoices (additional works and consumables) and variations.
• Monitoring of and review outstanding invoices with prompt resolution of queries
Speak with customers regarding overdue invoices constructively by telephone or email within agreed timescales
• Investigate invoice discrepancies by liaising with internal management team and/or external customers
• Escalate non-payments of overdue debts to the Financial Controller
• Utilise the Contracts Managers / Regional Operations Managers client relationships to chase debt where appropriate
• Ensure monthly processing deadlines are met as required
• Send out monthly client statements/letters as may be agreed from time to time
• Send out monthly client statements
• Keeping accurate records of payments and all debt collection activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Previous Sales Ledger/Accounts Receivable/Purchase Ledger experience
• A solid understanding of credit control processes
• Ability to resolve account queries in a professional and efficient manner
• Excellent organisation and administration skills
• Diligent with a flexible approach, reliable and conscientious
• Good IT skills with Microsoft Excel experience
• Ability to work on own initiative and work as part of a wider team, willing to help others at short notice
