Role: Materials Manager
Location: North London
Rates of Pay: Up to £20 per hour

A materials manager to assist in the set up and introduction of the New 717 fleet. Based in Hornsey North London.

Manages the flow of materials, equipment, goods, supplies, etc., from suppliers. Coordinate and control the materials planning function for projects in conjunction with related procurement activities. Continuously review and plan requirements for purchasing materials. Assist in the negotiations of SLA’s & contracts for goods, services, and equipment relating to materials, transportation and storage. Lead project related initiatives relevant to the continuous improvement of the supply chain function. To provide inventory control and order book management for the rolling stock service business related to projects. Monitor contractual obligations for compliance to support internal and external customers. The evaluation of supplier performance. Liaising with projects team and fleet objectives to achieve optimized project delivery on time to budget. This role is responsible for providing materials availability for projects and continuous improvement in the supply chain. No budget control. The main stakeholders are project and Fleet Delivery Managers.

Qualifications, Experience & Technical Know-How

3 years experience in Rail materials, stores or engineering position
Detailed knowledge of supply chain processes, materials and stores management procedures and warranty processes
Good knowledge of IT systems/software
Experience within rolling stock maintenance processes and procedures
Good organizational skills

Project Management experience
CIPS Professional diploma in Procurement and Supply
