Purpose:

Business Development Manager’s play a key role in driving and delivering Babington’s ambitious growth plans, through proactively engaging new business opportunities, as well as maintaining high quality service levels with existing clients. BDM’s will manage and maintain a defined geographical area, develop or maintain specialist expertise in key labour marker sectors and support the development of new areas, programmes and services, through providing market leading insight into new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

•Identify, engage, develop and on-board new business (client acquisition) through a variety of business development approaches, including; calls, meetings, presentations and events

•Develop and maintain your area and individual sales plan. Work closely with internal sales support and marketing colleagues to develop campaigns and activity plans.

•Generate a new business pipeline from warm and cold leads, assisting in the development of an on-going client acquisition strategy.

•Identify and capitalise upon opportunities to develop existing client relationships into key accounts

•Ensure your own personal performance against all activity, output and quality metrics

•Maintain and update sales and account management systems, e.g. CRM.

•Attend appropriate networking and employer events to develop new opportunities. This may include an element of early morning, evening or weekend work.

•Undertake effective Organisational Needs Analysis and co-design and develop workforce development and Apprenticeship training programmes with Employers.

•Accurately completing own enrolments, including start paperwork, initial assessments and health & safety pre-vets.

•Maintain effective relationships with all internal colleagues (Operations, Marketing, Recruitment Team) to ensure high quality service and to maximise opportunities to up-sell and cross-sell added value programmes and services..

•Evaluate the market landscape (including competitors strengths and weaknesses) and then scope out opportunities within your operating area.

•Develop relationships with Provider Networks, Apprenticeship and Growth Hubs and Local Intermediaries.

•Develop propositions, proposals and presentations for clients

•Contribute to overall Babington Group business activity including exhibitions and third party events

•Any other duties which, from time to time, may reasonably be required to meet the needs of Babington Group and is within the remit of this post

The post holder must maintain the confidentiality of information about clients, staff and other Babington Group stakeholders. Some work is of a confidential nature and information gained must not be communicated to other persons except in the recognised course of duty. The post holder must meet the requirements of the Data Protection Act at all times.

Flexibility
This job description is intended to provide a broad outline of the main duties and responsibilities only. The post holder will need to be flexible in developing the role in conjunction with their line manager. The post holder may be asked to carry out any other reasonably and lawful duty or instruction.

Safeguarding
The Babington Group has as an Safeguarding Policy which encompasses the recent legislative changes to include PREVENT ( Anti-terrorism and Anti radicalisation strategy) and it is the responsibility of all staff to comply with this. The key responsibilities for staff under this Policy are set out in the Babington Way. You will be required to complete mandatory training subject to employment.
