Project Engineer

£23k to £30k + Excellent Benefits that include an annual bonus, good holiday allowance and pension etc.

The Company

With a history in excess of a decade, my client has been offering engineering solutions to a range of industries that include Rail, General Manufacturing and Oil & Gas.

As experts in Precision Manufacturing and Laser Machining, this growing company offer a full engineering service to clients; ranging from independent specialist firms to large global conglomerates and they pride themselves on offering an excellent service to all.

Due to a move to a modern, attractive factory, with plenty of parking and excellent facilities, they are now looking for a Project Engineer to join their Projects team.

The Role

As a Project Engineer your role will include aspects of Project Management and Projects Engineering, so you'll get to see all sides of the projects that you work on and be involved from start to finish on the majority.

The variety in what you'll work on is also a plus in this role. You'll be involved in both long and short projects that can vary in complexity.

A taster of what you can typically expect includes:

* Dealing with all aspects of the teams within the business; ranging from support services and the skilled manufacturing engineers on the shop floor to others involved in projects.
* Having a good mix of Project Management within the work that you do, including liaising with external resources and following a plan from start to finish.
* Close contact with a range of clients and their engineers; offering technical solutions and providing an engineering single point of contact for the duration of the work.
* Using your knowledge within AutoCAD 2D to provide design solutions based on project briefs and manufacturing capabilities.
* Using your knowledge of machining - and specifically laser machining - along with your ability to “speak the same language” as the team on the shop floor, to provide innovative answers to a wide range of projects' needs

The Person

OK, we know you won't know everything and there's always an element of training needed to get anyone up to speed in a new job, but...and it's a big but: there are a few key things you're going to need in order to be considered for this Project Engineer role:

* An engineering background within manufacturing, preferably within rail (NOT rail infrastructure)
* Experience within a Project Engineering position and an understanding of how projects are managed
* An ability to design and modify engineering drawings for manufacture within AutoCAD
* A solid understanding of machining processes, preferably laser machining but other machining may be considered
* Experience of working multiple projects at one time – usually a variety of sizes and time frames
* Great organisational abilities and solid I.T skills (MRP / Email / Microsoft Office etc.)
* Proven experience of dealing with all the levels of people – and their personalities – shown above

The Rewards

This is a great opportunity to work for a friendly and growing company that has an enviable order book and a brilliant future, and they are offering:

* A basic salary based on your experience
* A great annual profit related bonus scheme
* 33 days paid leave each year
* Good working hours that include an early finish on Fridays
* Targeted training and development
* A real opportunity to grow with the business
