Our client, a leading travel membership organisation is looking for a Deputy IT Manager to join their IT department.

With strong knowledge and experience of Microsoft Server 2012 and desktop operating systems (Windows 2010), an understanding of IP networks and technologies and the ability to diagnose and correct system issues, the Deputy IT Manager will be required to ensure the IT systems and policies are reviewed and kept secure.

Key responsibilities as the Deputy IT Manager will include:

* Reviewing and monitoring the company’s systems to ensure compliance with relevant legislation (including General Data Protection Regulation - GDPR)
* Working with the designated Data Protection Officer to implement and report on data security issues and policies
* Establishing and maintaining policies and procedures for the use of the company’s systems, ensuring compliance
* Working with other teams to develop the company’s technical provision to ensure it is relevant and fit for purpose
* Conducting regular penetration and other testing of the company’s systems security
* Ensuring third party system suppliers regularly carry out appropriate security testing
* Reviewing the integrity of system backups and disaster recovery provisions
* Monitoring and maintaining interrogations between systems
* Training staff members when needed

Skills and experience required to be considered for this Senior Systems Analyst role:

* Previous experience in a similar role
* Strong knowledge and experience of Microsoft Server 2012 and desktop operating systems (Windows 2010)
* Understanding of IP networks and technologies
* Knowledge of Data Protection and GDPR is needed
* Ability to diagnose and correct system issues
* Experience of compliance and developing policies
* Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical colleagues and to provide training as required
* Passion for detail and accuracy
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to present to senior management
* Line management / mentoring / team leader experience would be highly beneficial
