We are hiring 2 Multi Skilled Engineers in the Tameside Area.

Salary: £12.80 - £14.50 per hour
Start date: ASAP
Contract: Temp (to possibly go perm)
Location: Tameside

Job Overview:

• Ensures the smooth operation of plant and or other types of facility, both electrical and mechanical.
• Ensures that the engineering tasks received are operated at all times in accordance with current Health, Safety & Environmental legislation. Knowledge of managing work activities through a Safe System of Work (SSoW).
• Ensures provider and client support functions to meet the requirements and objectives of our customers and our business, these tasks will relate to updating service records and timekeeping information in an accurate and timely way and updating client reporting systems in an accurate and timely way.
• Ensures proactive and planned maintenance is managed effectively, including meeting the needs of technical, legality, budgetary requirements. Reactive task carried out safely and timely in line with outlined SLA’s.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Carry out planned maintenance, service and reactive breakdown cover on a variety of Mechanical and Electrical equipment in normal working hours, along with supporting out of hours works by being part of a standby rota.
• Ensures that safety risks and business risks associated with engineering activities are assessed and that appropriate checks, controls and precautions are taken.
• Ensures that the engineering tasks received are delivered within the set SLA’s with compliance at all times, along with supporting other related tasks required by the FM department, to ensure the client’s portfolio operates effectively.
• Produce clear and concise written reports and time sheets in a timely manner.
• Apply appropriate engineering principles, best practice and knowhow in the provision of engineering services and provide a professional customer facing service.
• Review and maintain stock levels, allowing continued operations and scheduled works.
• Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all employees and client representatives.

Qualifications:

• ONC in a science or engineering subject or a recognised electrical/ mechanical apprenticeship supported by suitable vocational qualifications or experience – PASMA/IPAF- IOSH and DBS. Full driving licence

Education level:

• City and guilds, recognized aprentaship NVQ LVL4 or ONC.
Experience
• Working to Planned Preventative and Reactive maintenance Regimes.
• Fault finding on Control circuits and mechanical systems
• Knowledge of lone working requirements.
• Must be able to conform to all required regulations.
• Experience of Building Management Systems.
• Water hygiene experience and legionella control methods.
• Risk Assessment and Method Statement trained.
Specific skills.
• Have a good background in mechanical and electrical building systems maintenance regimes.
• Have a good basic education, with good written and spoken English and basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to communicate with people at all levels.
• Be a team player with a flexible and adaptable approach.
• Have a sound understanding of current company and legislative Health and Safety, Environmental Impacts and Risk Assessment Procedures.
• Be able to provide both summarised and detailed reports, on current operations department activities when requested to do so.
