Sky Recruitment Solutions are delighted to be partnering one of Derby's most innovative and prestigious IT companies, offering bespoke IT support and project management to various businesses in the Derbyshire area and throughout the UK.

Due to superb growth, they have an immediate vacancy for an IT Support Technician, to support an existing client base plus be part of imminent new contracts.

The role could suit a recent graduate with placement experience, or a more experienced 1st line/2nd line IT support professional.

Working in state of the art premises in central Derby, with offices overlooking the Derby skyline, the business has a 'Google' feel to it - plenty of work space, superb modern facilities (boardroom, onsite cafe), and the successful candidate will be somebody that will embrace this culture.

Working (Apply online only) Monday-Friday (with the potential option for paid out of hours support), and in a team of 4 IT support specialists, you would also be entitle to:

24 days' holiday plus 8 Bank Holidays
Mobile phone
IT equipment including laptop
Parking permit (on completion of probationary period)

On a personal level, we are looking for:

Adaptable communication skills (dealing with customers over the phone and occasionally face to face)
Pleasant and friendly telephone manner
Ability to work well under pressure including an ability to demonstrate at interview the ability to multi-task

Day to day, the list below is not an exhaustive list, but covers the main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Monitor and maintaining computer systems remotely
Trouble shoot/resolve issues
Dealing with network problems
Providing support (following diagrams, written instructions)
Responding to call outs
Building strong and professional working relationships
Testing new technology

Technically, you'll require:

Windows Server based Infrastructure (Apply online only)
Active Directory Exchange (Apply online only) Basic Networking (TCP/IP) Ticket Management MS Office (Apply online only) MS Windows Vista

Ideal (but not essential):

Office 365 VMware Experience iSCSI/Fibre Channel/Storage Experience Cisco/Switch/Router Experience Firewall Configuration Experience
