Senior Account Manager

Purpose of role:

Develops strong client relationships with key stakeholders to ensure strategic growth, maximisation of contribution and ultimately ensure account retention.

Role Requirements:

* Maintains strong relationships with both client, business unit heads and within peer group
* Ensures jobs are processed and managed in line with both APS and client policies and procedures.
* Fully understands the APS Proposition
* Maximises knowledge with Category Specialists- to enhance or deliver new services
* Follows APS and industry 'best practice' guidelines
* Skilled in using Microsoft Office - word, excel, PowerPoint.

Key Activities:

Client Internal / External

* Builds and maintains relationships ensuring a business wide collaborative approach in account development and contract retention
* Identifies how APS can contribute to the clients strategy and delivers the opportunity to do so
* Creates innovation and adds value through collaboration with client and BU heads
* Recognises the need and when to introduce category specialist to interface with the client
* Challenges information presented in monthly MI prior to submission to client
* Prepares documentation for client meetings (monthly update and quarterly review meetings)
* Chairs client meetings to ensure sla's and kpi's are met
* Delivers to contractual and business targets / sla's

Financial

* Maximises top line growth and account contribution
* Maximises cost saving opportunities identified, inline with contractual requirements
* Is responsible for ensuring all possible jobs are progressed to invoicing in the month they were delivered
* Ensuring that monthly P&L is positive but where a negative is reported is able to provide explanation
* Considers VAT and seeks opportunity to deliver savings by reengineer/mitigate
* Understands and enforces procedures to achieve zero FOC and Rework

Strategy and Leadership

* Understands APS competitors and positioning in the market place
* Is knowledgeable in the clients sector and mindful of changes that could affect clients strategy
* Instils in the team a good understanding of APS business strategy
* Instils in the team a thorough understanding of account strategy
* Continual development of 'Client Account Plan' with new initiatives identified
* Works with Account Director in delivery of additional service lines

People Management

* Liaises with the wider Account Management team to ensure resources remain in line with client needs, bau activity and contractual commercials
* Develops Account Managers to confidently communicate our proposition and services to client
* Manages self effectively, seeking opportunities to expand knowledge, grow and develop
* Shares knowledge and best practice with colleagues, internal departments and business units
* Celebrates success with all relevant departments

Operational and Process

* Understands APS competitors and positioning in the market place
* Has a thorough understanding of the client, client structure and service requirement
* Is compliant with all relevant APS business and client processes,.i.e SLA's, SOP's, brand and quality
* Is flexible in their approach to workload and task allocation to ensure client demands are met
* Resolves issues, escalates to Account Director where appropriate including any contract risks identified
* Seeks authority from AD to produce job without p/o
