Head of Technical Risk Analytics– Highly Respected Financial Services Provider

A Global Financial Services Provider is seeking a Head of Technology Risk Analytics to be an integral part of a dynamic team, spanning a variety of nationalities, cultures and backgrounds. You will be using machine learning, alongside other data science technologies, to assist in detecting potential cyber threats. A key part of the role is to pre-empt, detect and respond to cybersecurity threats, through the use of actionable intelligence. You will be working with large and complex data sets, and be involved with using advanced computer technologies, in order to produce results. The role will involve being an underlying driver, for IT Risk Intelligence, to strengthen and enable the business to make secure and solid business decisions.

Key Accountabilities

• Use advanced analytical skills to develop a new Risk Intelligence Platform
• Work at the leading edge of analytics, applying the best possible combination of applied mathematics, advanced computing (artificial intelligence and machine learning), statistics, data engineering and visualisation, in order to combat cyber threats
• Provide 2nd line oversight, within a global remit, to analyse, detect and investigate cyber threats to the company, supporting and informing IT and Cyber Risk management decisions
• Collaborate with Senior Management and Incident Response teams on current and evolving threats and threat detection
• Proactively identify trends and behaviours that could potentially be indicative of IT risk, understand risk patterns and seek to develop models

Key Requirements

• Experience of using quantitative data analysis, to effectively solve problems
• Ability to solve problems using data, having beyond the technical skills
• Able to use advanced computing technologies, in order to achieve reliable results
• Experience of working with statistical programming environments (SQL, R or Python) would be advantageous
• Strong stakeholder facing, communication and presentation skills
• Prior experience in machine learning, predictive modelling, data mining, Splunk, Kafka or Scala a plus
• In-depth understanding of Big Data statistical analytics tools, for example, Python
• Experience in Big Data Analytics technology and landscape trends, for example, Spark and Hadoop
• Ability to test hypotheses from raw data sets, drawing meaningful conclusions
• Understanding of leading visualisation tools, for example, Tableau and Spotfire
