Department: Despatch
Reporting to: Works Managers.

The Role
You will be expected to achieve quality standards, in line with targeted levels of output whilst working safely and maintaining full product traceability. You will be working as part of a team and you are expected to contribute to improving any working processes. The role has been introduced to, with coordinator guidance, help Improve work flow from Q and end of line work centres into and through laser, WIP and despatch.

The main tasks of the role are outlined below:
• To provide accurate and prompt picking, packing and despatch of components.
• Frequent lifting to be carried out in accordance with the manual handling guidance/training given.
• Observe and practice the 5S principles.
• Use a variety of machines and tools to assist in the strapping, sealing, marking and dispensing requirements essential to completion of the despatch/export process.
• Use pallet trucks and lifting equipment correctly to assist in the movement of goods and shipments.
• Competence in warehouse and stock control procedures, physical and transactional.
• I.T. competence to required level in data searching and completion of shipment processing transactions.
• Contribute in a team working environment. Contribute to continuous improvement.
• Ensure that the areas under our jurisdiction supplying dispatch are kept clear, P15, robot welding, laser work centre’s. This list is not exhaustive and is changeable dependent on business requirements, coordinators will advise of requirements when necessary.
• Loading carriers and completion of required documentation.
• Comply with company rules, regulations and procedures. To share knowledge and/or best practice with other team members.

The role also includes other general duties to maintain the efficient working of the department. It may be a requirement for the incumbent to assist in any despatch area, task or function or in other areas of production as requested by their coordinator. The above list of tasks is not exhaustive and the post holder may be required to undertake duties as may be reasonably expected and requested. employees are required to be flexible and co-operative to assist in meeting business needs.
The DO will play a key role in the continuous process involved in the supply of finished products which begins with the identification of customer need and ends with the delivery of customer satisfaction.

Skills and Abilities
• A methodical approach to systems and understanding of the importance of standards and established/agreed systems of work.
• Able to make decisions based on experience, have confidence to act and make changes within given boundaries.
• Good personal organisation under pressure from time, internal and external customers.
• Computer literate.
• Time management skills.
• Good verbal communication and listening skills.
• Ability to promote the business in a positive manner.

Experience/ Knowledge
• Experience of working in Despatch/warehousing role within a production/manufacturing environment would be advantageous.

• Fork Lift truck licence is desirable but not essential as training will be given if required.

Hours of Work Days Twilight Nights
Mon to Thurs 06:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Mon to Thurs 2.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m. Mon to Thurs 09.30 p.m. to 07:00 a.m.
Friday 06:00 a.m. to 12 noon Friday 12.00 noon. to 6.00 p.m.
