An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Assistant to join the Finance team.

Reporting to the Financial Director, the Finance Assistant will work with the Finance Manager to assist in preparing management accounts to be submitted on a timely basis and ensure Company compliance procedures are adhered to.

Responsibilities

- Assist with both the internal and the external auditing process
- Producing financial reports for Directors
- Balance Sheet reconciliation and undertaking cash flow forecasts
- Assisting with budgets and forecasts
- Monthly payroll preparation
- VAT, EC and Intrastat returns
- Monitoring and reporting on customer rebates
- Adhering to internal controls/timeframes
- Work with account managers to resolve customer issues and reduce exposure to potential bad debt.
- Manage effective reporting and assessment tools to minimise risk and proactively identify problem areas and customers.
- Maintenance of Credit Risk Policies and Procedures.
- Manage all business and customer escalations and queries in a timely and effective manner.
-Reporting to the Finance Director at agreed timescales in respect of outstanding accounts and accounting Key Performance Indicators.

Requirements

-Strong financial background with commercial awareness.
-Ability to demonstrate highly developed customer relationship skills in a similar role/capacity.
-Confident communicator.
-Ability to multi-task, prioritise and work to tight deadlines.
-Qualified in a professional accounting qualification.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications and experience

- GCSE English and Mathematics.
- Strong administrative and IT Skills (Microsoft Office) are required, to include intermediate excel i.e. look ups, pivot tables and excellent working knowledge of accounting software.
- ACCA, ACA, AAT, CIMA or equivalent
