Our client is looking for a one year fixed term contract Business Development Manager.

A proven sales professional who is target driven and results orientated; can demonstrate excellence in a business development role having secured key business wins.  Networking – accomplished at sourcing and developing leads within the Yorkshire business community, utilising experience to seek referrals, a strong relationship builder.  Commercially aware with an understanding of market dynamics in this or related industries.  Commitment to customer service excellence, internally and externally.  Exemplary planning, organisation and time management skills.  Excellent communication skills – an active listener who can convey messages in a clear, concise and empathetic manner and can tailor their approach to meet the needs of the customer.  Problem solving – an inquisitive mind that seeks relevant information to gain understanding; able to think on your feet, anticipate obstacles and present appropriate solutions to mitigate.  Change orientated – demonstrates a flexible mind set by adapting to and supporting change.  Accountability – committed to taking responsibility and ownership for agreed actions.  A resilient, tenacious self-starter with a positive attitude and a drive to succeed.  Competent in Microsoft Office applications and experience of using CRM databases.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  To deliver agreed objectives and sales volume targets by developing new business opportunities and securing agreements with companies to allow worksite sales promotions.  Proactively generate your own new business leads and appointments with decisions makers to fill your diary through a combination of: outbound calling, desktop and field research, networking, referrals from existing contacts/customers and other corporate initiatives. Attend corporate events to support your activity.  To manage your diary and activity to ensure it is of sufficient quality and volume to meet the objectives and targets set; taking appropriate, corrective action as required to deliver sales performance excellence.  To have a thorough knowledge of our client, its product range and benefits to present appropriate solutions in an engaging manner to meet customer needs.  To have an in-depth understanding of the industry and our competitors.  To ensure all activities are delivered to a high standard and are compliant with FCA, PRA and data protection regulations.  To arrange and plan review meetings with your accounts as needed to maximise relationship opportunities, involving the Field Sales Manager, Business to Business Sales Manager and/or senior management as required.  Work closely with the Field Sales Manager and/or Key Account Manager to ensure the smooth handover of new accounts, including oversight of initial contact and tracking sales conversion. Proactively seek feedback on your business signings to build a picture of success, refining your approach accordingly to enhance new business development.  Optimise use of the CRM system ensuring all activity and your business pipeline are updated daily and accurately recorded, giving a thorough overview of your productivity.  Agree specific and measurable objectives with your line manager identifying strengths, areas for development and training requirements. Manage your own personal development, in line with agreed objectives as part of the development and appraisal process.  Prepare for and attend at least monthly one-to-ones with your line manager.  To take personal responsibility and accountability, following established departmental and company procedures and, where identified, communicate to your line manager any ideas for improvements or change.  Be an ambassador for the company being mindful that you are representing the company at all times whilst you are working.  Have a personal responsibility and attitude towards health and safety and ensure you do everything to maintain and promote a safe working area  You will also be required to carry out any other duties as delegated by your line manager. Normal hours 08:45 to 17:00 Monday to Thursday and 08:45 to 16:00 Friday. Lunch 45 minutes Monday to Thursday and 60 minutes on Friday. Due to the nature of the role, flexibility around core working hours is expected. The role is primarily field based and involves extensive travel throughout the UK therefore you must hold a full and clean driving license. You will also be expected to work from head office in Bradford on a regular basis as your diary permits. The role may involve some overnight stays
