We are recruiting for a national Building Services provider for an Electrical Power Engineer to cover DC, Battery and UPS systems on a data centre portfolio. The role will involve being a key member of the engineering team involved with ensuring that all batteries & power systems across the key Technical sites are tested and managed to ensure complete resilience and compliance. The suitable candidate will also be responsible for the Battery replacements and DC system repairs as well as thermal imaging and other related tasks.

Key Responsibilities
 To ensure testing of all batteries across all equipment within the national estate in line with Manufacturers recommendations and best industry practice.
 To ensure that all DC power systems are maintained in accordance with manufacturer recommendations
 Ensure testing is completed on all batteries in a given building without exception three times per year and DC power systems twice a year
 Ensure that all battery and DC Power assets are recorded and tracked throughout the estate ensuring compliance.
 Plan and execute small battery work replacements with the assistance of the site engineering team to ensure full resilience of all battery systems is maintained.
 Undertake or support site engineers in minor DC power repair works.
 Ensure that any changes to battery or DC power assets are recorded and updated within the relevant asset register.
 Ensure compliance with all updates and changes in legislation surrounding the battery & DC power assets.
 Complete thermal imaging routines on power equipment as part of regular maintenance.
 Keep in touch with markets changes and new technologies and propose improvements to the battery assets where they would benefit the estate.
 Assist with managing all replacement projects for battery assets.
 Put together projects plans, costs and proposals for replacements and manage and deliver replacement projects as required.
 Look to constantly develop and improve the management of battery and DC power assets to maximise resilience and eliminate property Customer Lost Hours impact where applicable.
 Assist with CAPEX information and plans for all battery works.
 To ensure all operations are in line Health & Safety policy
 To assist in managing and reducing health & safety risks and helping with initiatives.
 Identify improvements to processes and service, and implement agreed changes.
 Train and develop existing Engineers to act as cover as required.

 5 years + experience working in the DC Power and battery testing field.
 Experience of maintaining critical assets, including batteries in the telecommunications industry.
 Evidence of maintaining and submitting management data and using systems to record asset information.
 Team Player – 5 years’ experience within a contract/facilities management team
 Proven track record of engineering, asset management and critical environments
 Ability to take ownership and decisive action when required.
 Exceptional attention to detail and analysis.
 Familiar with FM CAFM systems.
 Computer literate – good Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
 Professional qualifications associated with the role - electrically qualified
 DC awareness competency.
 DC testing qualifications.
