High profile institution seeks to identify a polished individual with an excellent breadth - and depth - of knowledge of the Securities industry.

This is a new role offering the successful candidate the opportunity to undertake highly visible, high impact projects relating to risk mitigation and regulatory analysis. Previous exposure to a risk/controls environment is essential and may have been gained from a credit risk function, where emphasis is on Financial Institutions or from a compliance, regulatory, governance or group/business strategy perspective within a securities house. A good understanding of the overall securities industry is essential and specific experience may be gained from a bank, clearer, trading house or other related firm.
In addition to superior analytical skills and excellent securities industry knowledge the ideal individual will demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and verbal), together with confident presentation skills and the proven ability to build and manage effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at all levels across complex organisations. As such gravitas, presence and credibility will be complemented by the ability to convey complex information in non-technical language. Previous experience of mentoring/training will be highly advantageous.
Responsibilities will be varied and will include research, analysis and dissemination of industry information, using forensic investigation skills in conjunction with a pragmatic approach to problem solving and the ability to work with ambiguity in a pressurised and deadline driven environment.
Applicants will be extremely adaptable with the proven ability to work accurately and effectively in a change environment. Superior analytical skills, together with the proven ability to quickly assimilate new information will be complemented by excellent judgement, and a collegiate approach to team work.
