Internship description
This is a job based in Manchester. Salary: £16-18,000.

Key responsibilities of the role:

As a junior member of our client’s account management team, your main responsibility will be to work alongside and support our account managers/account directors to effectively manage day-to-day relationships with clients of the agency and to provide a highly responsive, quality service.
You will be actively involved in liaising with clients to meet their requirements, attending client planning and review meetings as necessary to deliver a proactive and responsive service. You will also be required to work alongside other members of the account management team, supporting them in the delivery of agency services as required, getting involved in creative brainstorms and managing jobs from client brief through to completion and delivery.

Day-to-day activities will include:

Attend client meetings to take project briefs and to review on-going projects, taking notes and producing client contact reports to summarise any agreed actions and time schedules for delivery.
• Assistance in drafting copy for client collateral, direct mail campaigns, newsletters, websites, press releases, feature articles, adverts and other marketing materials.
• Deal with clients on a day-to-day basis by telephone and email to progress jobs, gain authorisation and sign-off on job briefs, provide quotations on new jobs, secure client purchase orders, raise client invoices and any other general client requirements.
• Liaison and briefing of MKT Studio team to ensure an accurate client brief on all creative and design jobs, managing the client job from sign-off of brief through to final delivery.
• Arrange client photography and attend photo shoots as required.
• Assist the Senior Account Manager in researching and preparing presentation and proposal documents for identified new business opportunities.
• Gain excellent familiarity with all of our client’s systems including client extranet, Dotmailer email management and Drupal/Optiva CMS system, and MKT on-line creative schedule amongst others.

Skills and experience required:

• Ideally a business or marketing graduate with a good degree.
• Ideally CIM diploma qualified.
• Ideally at least 12 months experience working within an agency or business-to-business in-house marketing environment.
• Excellent all round communication skills (verbal and written)
• Good IT literacy including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PR Planner (desirable).

You must demonstrate the following core competencies:

• A good basic understanding of the basic principles of b2b marketing best practice.
• A good basic understanding of digital marketing principles.
• Be enthusiastic and enjoy creative ideas development.
• Be client and delivery focused.
• Good time management and time keeping.
• PPC, SEO knowledge (desirable).
