Our client in the travel industry are currently seeking a Software Development Project Manager to join the team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be focussed on the delivery of business change projects using leading technologies and agile methodologies. This role requires a considerable amount of flexibility as it will be required to run projects with stakeholders and teams based near Heathrow and Madrid.

Key role responsibilities;

•To work with external clients and stakeholders in shaping, controlling and delivering major change projects.
•To be responsible for all aspects of business change projects i.e. the people, process and technology change.
•To liaise with the wider business to drive projects to completion.
•To work flexibly within a rapidly changing and dynamic project environment, using the latest techniques to minimise risk and maximise throughput.
•To develop excellent relationships with the wider business in order to ensure full consultation for major projects and maximise resource efficiency.
•To ensure appropriate communications are maintained with all project stakeholders.
•To follow the business change process with associated documentation

Key personal capabilities
•At least 5 years previous project management experience within an IT environment
•Strong background in SCRUM or another agile methodology would be highly desirable
•Sound understanding of common Project Management methodologies and disciplines through the complete project lifecycle (MSP and Prince training would be desirable)
•Capable of managing complex projects involving multiple, dispersed delivery teams in different locations
•Capable of running multiple projects at the same time, handling the priorities and conflicts this brings.
•Capable of dealing with external clients at all levels of seniority.
•A solid understanding of budget control and project governance.
•Delivery focused with a hunger to meet commitments made every time, all the time.
•A team player with a ‘can do’ attitude, a keen willingness to learn, flexible, willing to help others, and develop as a pivotal member of the team.
•Strong customer focus, displaying an understanding of what excellent internal and external customer service entails.
•Good understanding of technologies, any hands on exposure to analysis, design, development or test tools being an advantage.
