Salary up to £38,655 dependant on experience + attractive pension + 25 days annual leave + performance related bonus and stand-by payment. Company vehicle or car allowance option.
You will be required to visit sites across the Yorkshire Region therefore a full valid and clean EU driving licence is essential.
As part of this role, you will be required to participate in a stand-by rota, covering your base and any other areas when required. This will typically be 1 week in 10.
As an Engineering Planner you will be responsible for providing MEICA technical knowledge in the identification and specification of: key labour skills set; parts requirements; tools; services and access to enable the scheduling team to optimise resource usage and the craft teams to successfully deliver work safely and effectively.
Ensuring the correct detailed job scoping to enable robust maintenance cost forecasting. Providing engineering expertise, support and advise to operational, Engineering Reliability and Asset Delivery Business partners.
What will the role involve ?
Your role will effectively identify and plan the different disciplines (Electrical/Mechanical ICA & Sub contractors) required to deliver a full range of engineering work. Developing maintenance work packages in a Computer Maintenance Management System, in line with the Company's safety and engineering standards. Considering correct and adequate information to allow effective and efficient scheduling, work allocation and execution of maintenance work. This will include acting on information provided by others and/or performing site inspections in the scoping of maintenance jobs, detailing parts, tool, services, estimated hours, access / egress requirements to ensure the correct work activities are included in the plans.
You will constantly make decisions around options and engineering solutions relating to Engineering maintenance jobs. Ensuring that robust financial management and commercial awareness form the foundation of all Engineering business decisions, whilst considering the needs of the operational teams. Having Knowledge of Financial rules to identify work associated to either Operational or Capital Expenditure will be applied onto all jobs
With team colleagues you will regular and efficiently manage the backlog of work in the work stack within the area of responsibility. This will include providing input into building a weekly schedule of work to enable the scheduling team to effectively target the priority work as identified by operational partners.
You will be heavily focussed on Health and Safety, understanding current procedures and ensuring within responsibility ensure all Procedures are followed to help us to achieve our vision of achieving zero lost time accidents.
To carry all this out A Mechanical/Electrical or ICA based apprenticeship and or a formal Engineering qualification, with proven several years of experience in one of the Engineering disciplines is essential
Having good interpersonal skills to be able to gather the relevant information from Operations, ER colleagues, contractors and suppliers involved in the end to end process of delivering work is required
What skills are we looking for ?
You will have the ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external working relationships and be able to work effectively with equipment manufacturers to identify shortfalls and propose enhancements. Therefore good interpersonal skills are a definite requirement of the role.
Experience and proficiency in the use of, Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Management tools e.g. SAP, and Asset databases. With the ability to review and understand equipment: history, drawings OEM files, and Asset data.
Ideally applicants will have previous experience in a commercially orientated and / or regulated environment along with previous experience gained within the water or waste sectors or within the broader utilities, process or manufacturing industry sectors.
Educated to ONC/HNC/BTEC or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical or ICA Engineering is essential with Degree qualified in one or more of the same disciplines an advantage.
Experience of Mechanical, Electrical and/or ICA maintenance activities would be a major advantage along with Process Safety and ATEX Knowledge
