A fantastic opportunity has arisen within a University in London for a Staffing Manager.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all human resources work. They will work in close co-ordination with the Head of Administration, Finance and Research Leads, to provide a comprehensive universities administrative service at the site.

Outline of key deliverables for the Staffing Manager:

*To be responsible for Recruitment and Selection, i.e., preparing job descriptions and adverts, arranging for posts to be advertised, for interviews to be conducted and for contracts (both the University and honorary NHS contracts) to be issued in line with the University policies and procedures
*To ensure that staff are trained in recruitment and selection procedures.
*To prepare or provide assistance with grading, re-grading and salary progression requests as required
*To carry out inductions with new starters and ensure they have the necessary arrangements in place to be able to start work
*To provide high level advice and support to staff on complex HR issues (e.g. performance management, grievances) in consultation with the HR Consultancy Team
*To lead on and represent the Division in complex HR issues as required (e.g. co-ordinating an organisational change process)
*To proactively support the Head of Administration and University Director, implementing the Institute's strategy and undertaking special projects and providing information and advice as required

The successful applicants for the role of Staffing Manager will have;

-Higher education to degree level, or equivalent, or substantial relevant experience
-Excellent IT skills (Microsoft office, spreadsheets, databases, email, internet, etc.)
-Highly developed verbal and written communication skills (ranging from informal 1:1 discussions, formal presentations), including the ability to liaise with staff at a range of levels internal and external to the organisation
-Record of successfully line managing and developing staff
-Experience recruiting, managing and developing individuals effectively
-Experience preparing adverts, job descriptions, post grading documents and other HR related materials
-Experience of Higher Education and/or NHS systems (preferably in a research intensive environment)
