As a Lead Product Engineer you will lead the product development team and utilise your technical knowledge and professional experience to contribute to the delivery of industrial equipment, currently pumping, grinding and screening solutions to improve our existing product ranges and support our Customers’ needs. Acting under the guidance of the Director of Pump Technology, the role requires forward-looking market awareness, concept creation and detail design. To perform effectively, excellent working relationships will need to be built and maintained with global commercial and manufacturing teams. You will be challenged to build and implement effective systems that will allow accurate planning and will result in positive on time delivery results. An appreciation of the commercial implications of engineering decision making, attention to detail and the ability to drive, develop and work effectively with other team members are all critical for success in this role. You will be required to provide deliverables for the purpose of evaluating design alternatives, cost estimation and establishing manufacturing routes whilst acting as a focal point for mechanical technical matters. You should be keen to take on fresh challenges, develop your technical and interpersonal skills as well as expand your knowledge and experience through a variety of exciting projects. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems
• Liaise with intercompany, intracompany, and external teams and customers to ascertain the project requirements
• Drive performance through structured tiered meetings using daily, weekly and monthly metrics
• Prepare project status reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends; recommending actions
• Be fully aware of personal workload, prioritise and organise to ensure deadlines are achieved
• Be fully familiar and conversant with department and company policies, procedures and processes, ensuring all work and actions undertaken are in full compliance at all times
• Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design and develop customised, forward-looking customer-centric solutions
• Maintain a keen global market awareness
• Reduce cost of product and increased production throughput through new design simplification and existing product redesign
• Perform data analysis and present modification & upgrade programs through quick and accurate engineering analyses (FEA, hand calculations etc.)
• Ensure all deliverables are verified and validated in accordance with all relevant Company policies and regulatory requirements
• Contribute to the investigation, resolution and documentation of Engineering Queries in a timely and technically acceptable fashion
• Lead internal design review meetings being aware of commercial implications
• Ensure that internal checking and approvals procedures are adhered to
• Ensure Company Engineering Change Procedures are adhered to
• Ensure Customer Care and Quality are always at the forefront
• Ensure that the training skills are met for current and future demands of the team
• Contribute to the development of systems and improvement in working practices and processes
• Ensure correct and thorough maintenance of project documentation
• Produce and check Mechanical engineering documentation deliverables
• Ensure a high standard of professionalism is maintained

• Support other departments and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager

·HND in an Engineering discipline or equivalent


·Experience in a similar engineering position

·Leading of cross-functional meetings

·Working knowledge within an industrial/production environment

·Experience of supervising a team

Skills, training or special knowledge

·Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook)

·Proficient in the use of 3D CAD software to produce Engineering designs and drawings to relevant standards

·Understanding of Mechanical Engineering principles including supporting calculations.

·An understanding of the requirements of Design for Manufacture, Assembly and Maintenance

·Have an understanding of common place industry materials and their application

·Knowledge of The Machinery (Safety) Directive, PED, ATEX and REACH and their application within Engineering Design.
