Engineering Manager

Huntsman have a rare opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager with a passion for leading Functional Engineering, Maintenance, & delivery of Projects and Overhauls, to join our Site Leadership Team at our manufacturing facility at Wilton.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proven leader, committed to driving improvements and change management, to join a high performing manufacturing site with the key task of motivating and developing all engineering functions in line with strategic business initiatives. Reporting to the Site Operations Manager you will lead all aspects of engineering for the site to ensure a comprehensive, professional engineering and maintenance service in line with production demands.

Additionally, as the Engineering Manager, you will:

•Direct all engineering resources in functional excellence, including the identification, definition and resolution of technical engineering problems to ensure the continuous improvement of safety, reliability and cost performance of all site assets
•Act as Codal Compliance Manager to ensure asset integrity and reliability targets are met whilst managing full compliance with codal and statutory requirements
•Lead and develop the Engineering team and act as a mentor to engineers across other functions to ensure they meet their full potential and maximise their contribution to business performance
•Work in close cooperation with the UK Purchasing Manager to define, establish and maintain cost effective service level agreements and contracts with external vendors regarding all engineering services and supplies
•Define and execute the maintenance and operating budget for the Engineering team. Monitor costs monthly against budget to ensure cost and business targets are met, whilst instigating corrective actions where required
•Manage the Capital Project Programme to agreed budgets and timescales and act as the Engineering Project Manager on capital projects
•Establish yourself as a key member of a Site Leadership team focused on driving strategic improvements at all levels

•This position requires a Degree qualified engineer with previous experience in a management capacity within the Chemical (or Process) sector
•Excellent leadership skills with the ability to work well under pressure and a passion for driving and delivering innovative engineering/maintenance strategies
•Good knowledge of high hazard regulations and codal compliances within the Chemical sector
•High level of influencing skills with the ability to engage and develop staff at all levels
•Strong commercial skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with suppliers and commercial colleagues as part of a global organisation
•Ability to lead a variety of site engineering projects and supporting Overhauls where required
