An integral member of the site management team the engineering manager has overall responsibility for the engineering functions and for delivering significant change to support our vision for manufacturing excellence. To lead and drive the maintenance engineering resource to continuously improve process efficiency and plant up time.
To implement a planned preventive maintenance plan to reduce production down time due to machine breakdowns, and to facilitate enhanced production efficiencies, raising availability and utilisation KPI's.
Control the use of external contractors through the Permit to Work System, ensuring site safety procedures are adhered to at all times.
Develop safety initiatives, set machinery standards and implement best safety practices for all engineering activities.
Management of a multi-functional engineering team with responsibility for people training, development, motivation and inspiration.
Customer focussed. Instil a culture where working collaboratively with operational teams to design and develop solutions to eradicate problems is the norm.
Implement CMMS driven maintenance schedules that balance cost and risk for our critical machine assets, to reduce unplanned work, increase machine availability and reduce overall engineering costs.
Preparing and delivering the annual engineering budget.
Ensuring ongoing compliance with ISO14001 environmental compliance standard.Implement and review departmental objectives to achieve KPI's.
In depth core Electrical or Mechanical skillset developed in a manufacturing environment.
At least 3-5 years in an engineering management position gained in a manufacturing factory environment.
People Management and motivational expertise.
A relevant background in a manufacturing, process, preferably the coating or printing industry.
Member of a relevant engineering institute.
Degree qualified in one or more Engineering discipline.
