Job purpose

  • Support / Report to Project Cost Management Lead for a range of Cost Consultancy commissions
  • Delivery of high quality advice and cost management services
  • Maintaining standards for a value for money service
  • Ensuring project delivery strategy is maintained.


  • Fulfill the role of a Professional Quantity Surveyor delivering Cost Consultancy support / advice to key long term clients as well as new clients and industry sectors.
  • Services will range from earliest business case through budget setting cost planning, establishing affordable value for money detailed design, risk management, whole life costing, procurement, change management and agreement of final accounts.
  • Delivering high quality reports, internally and externally.
  • Manage time and resources under direction of Senior Cost Manager to meet agreed programme and cost.
  • Reporting on project progress.

Knowledge skills & experience

  • Appropriate academic and professional qualifications (essential);
  • Working towards MRICS (essential);
  • Successful in delivering the role of ‘client’s cost consultant’ to include all RIBA work stages particularly Cost planning (essential);
  • Proven ability delivering added value to a businesses key repeat clients (essential);
  • Anticipate 2 - 3 years post degree qualification work experience demonstrating an ability to influence and gain confidence (essential);
  • Broad Experience – of clients including public sector, commercial and developer clients (desirable);
  • Experience in Business Development and work winning (desirable).

  • Ability to gain Security Clearance for MOD sites;
  • Fluent English both speaking and written;
  • Able to provide early advice clearly, accurately, eloquently and professionally.
