Our client is a well established, reputable and successful SME business.
The Group Accountant will have overall control of the financial affairs of a group of companies.Key areas of responsibility include:·Preparation of the Management accounts for all companies’ management and Statutory Accounts.·Preparation of the Management accounts and where appropriate statutory accounts for all client companies.·All matters of Taxation for both Company and Client businesses.·Control of the Accounts department including cover for staff absent on maternity leave.·Control of the Credit Control Department.·Provision and monitoring of the companies forecasts and budgets.·Provision of timely management information for the Directors of the companies.·Liaison with clients regarding financial information.·Liaison with banks regarding the financial information relative to both company and client businesses.·Attendance at monthly and ad hoc Director’s board meetings.·Attendance at client meetings both at the company premises and the client’s premises.·Other such financial and personnel management functions as the Directors from time to time require.
The successful Group Accountant MUST:1.Have experience in a similar role; AND2.Be ACA/ACCA qualified.The client will consider CIMA qualified candidates with relevant experience
Staff management experience would be beneficial but not essential.
You must have strong accuracy and attention to detail.You will be able to use your own initiative to prioritise workload in order to meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and IT skills are essential – including Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
