IT Support technician - Competitive salary

A well-established wholesale organisation, with offices based in a number of locations across the UK are looking to recruit a IT sales account manager /IT Support technician to join their expanding IT team. The primary role of the successful candidate will be the growth and support of a new web based ordering platform.

The role will be sales/account management focused with some exposure to other areas like assisting with the support desk and support of other platforms where appropriate as well. This is a really exciting / unique opportunity to join a well-established company and be part of a new initiative that has very good potential for the future. Given the nature of the role a variety of different backgrounds / experience could be suitable, but the correct combination of technical knowledge / competence coupled with the ability to work with and provide customer support is key.

Suitable backgrounds could include IT Sales/account management, SEO, IT application support, technical support.

Role Purpose:
*To account manage various clients and provide support for sales personnel and customers across the suite of software systems available to them.
*Setup and maintain users of B2B and B2C software.
*Work closely with 3rd party software providers.
*Focus on continuous development of the product suite to ensure the package is the best in the marketplace.
*Assist with the monitoring of helpdesk tickets, prioritising and reassigning as appropriate.
*Respond directly to user and customer support requests using a variety of methods in an appropriate timescale.
*Support the deployment of new systems including training, UAT, documentation.

Key responsibilities
*Provide first line support via telephone, email and helpdesk to both customers and sales personnel.
*On occasion customer site visits may also be necessary.
*Dealing with both internal and external sales related customer support requests
*Provide support for a diverse range of software applications.
*Focus on continuous development of our product suite to ensure our package is the best in the marketplace.
*Assist with the monitoring of the IT helpdesk ensuring that tickets are prioritized appropriately and assigned to the relevant people.
*Ensure that support requests are resolved in an appropriate timescale.
*Support with systems testing on both new systems and modifications to current systems.
*Assist with ensuring that sufficient help documentation is available at release of new software & additions modules.
*Provide support on all software related issues across a full suite of devices
*When required, provide cross-departmental assistance to ensure department's customer receives expected service level.
*Carryout 'out of hours I.T support' in line with department Rota
