A-List Education UK (Okeford Education LTD) is a boutique educational services provider specializing in tutoring and advising international students applying to US universities. We were founded in New York in 2005 by Ivy League graduates and opened our first international office in London in 2012. We are growing rapidly. We are seeking a dynamic, energetic individual to play a central role on our US university advising team in our London office. We offer a range of bespoke services to clients from all over the UK and Europe.

The Director of College Advising will lead the group, manage and guide the strategy and operations of the team and work with individual private clients, schools and teachers to direct them through the US college application process.

Main responsibilities:

  • The Director of College Advising will spearhead A-List UK’s work with individual clients, as well as work with institutions and teachers to provide guidance and oversight on the US application process. This will include 1:1 work to develop a strategy for each student - selecting universities, essay guidance, application advice, and working broadly with families, schools and teachers to understand the process and to complete all of the necessary pieces of each US college application.
  • Working with UK secondary schools to build a US college culture, including our Ark US Scholars Programme
  • Presenting workshops and informational sessions on US universities and the application process to schools, students and the community,
  • Working with the senior academic advisors across A-List to coordinate the development of materials, techniques and processes as well as approaches to teacher training and student lessons.
  • Although you will be London based, the role will likely require local and domestic travel and the possibility of international travel.
Skills and experience required:

  • You must have extensive experience working in American higher education. You must have proven experience working in a college admissions office or in a top high school as a college counsellor and possess extensive familiarity with the process.
  • You must have graduated from a competitive US university.
  • You must possess strong communication skills and comfort working with a diverse, international population.
  • You must possess strong management skills and have experience managing a team.
  • You must have a professional attitude and great organisational skills.
  • You must be able to commit to the position for at least two years.

  • £55,000 - £60,000 per annum depending on experience
