Job Purpose

Ocado is looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual to drive sales and inspire customers through ongoing seasonal and event initiatives. Working within the Grocery Merchandising team, this role is responsible for the ideation, execution and performance of these initiatives.

It’s a role that combines customer-first thinking, detailed insight, and a bias for action to improve how we market initiatives to customers across email, Ocado.com and the mobile apps. You will lead and collaboratively work alongside the wider Merchandising team, the Trading team, the Insight team, the Marketing team and the Creative team to drive clicks, conversion and sales through events and initiatives that delight our customers.

Roles & Responsibilities include:

Design and execute the events calendar across the Retail business delivering maximum impact; including owning the events process from planning to implementationCreate new ideas for events – by closely following trends, competitor activity, trading needs and wider business insightsWork with Trading and Marketing to create clear customer propositions to drive click through to eventsEnsure Creative are briefed with as much detail as possible on objectives of an event and hypotheses to achieve best results for go liveMaking insightful trade-offs and prioritisation decisions into how to optimize visibility of best performing events across webshop and appsUse insight and analysis to learn, improve and iterate on both a weekly and seasonal basis by reacting to insight and summarising key learningsLiaising with the Merchandising Insight team to continuously improve our understanding of events in generalResponsible for merchandising of seasonal initiatives outside of events by ensuring that we maximise sales of seasonal products through usual customer shopping habits such as search and browsingImproving process to continually improve efficiency across the teams and get to better outputBuild collaborative relationships with Marketing, Creative, Trading & Promotions teamsHelp the broader Merchandising team to achieve their goals, collaboratively helping with ad hoc requests and supporting supplier funded initiatives as requiredKnowledge, Skills & Experience
