The Role:

The Supply Chain Planner will work within the Supply Chain Function to assist and ensure that production and logistics are planned coordinately in a cost-effective and efficient manner.

Key responsibilities:

  • Produce on a weekly basis a plan for Manufacturing that meets the customer demands and satisfies the agreed product stock levels.
  • Produce a short-term plan covering the 2 – 12 week time horizon.
  • Work with Logistics to plan the provision of sufficient delivery resource.
  • Produce weekly stock reports and provide them to the appropriate people
  • Provide timely information to Customer Care concerning factory problems and planned shutdowns to enable communication with the customers
  • Back up the Logistics Department on 1st Product planning and customer communication.
  • Attend the daily Top15 meeting to collect information on factory performance and reflect it in the planning process.
  • Attend shutdown and capital project installation planning meetings to gather information on issues affecting factory running and incorporate it into the planning.

The successful candidate:
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, organised, highly motivated and a self-starter who is comfortable working with limited supervision and juggle lots of projects at one time. T

The Ideal experience:

  • At least 3 years of the experience in supply planning
  • Previous experience of planning in a Manufacturing/Supply Chain environment
  • Academic qualifications supporting fundamental knowledge of the basics of planning theory
  • Computer literate – the use of planning systems and modern business software (SAP, OMPv6, Excel)
  • Able to produce brief, clear, precise reports.
  • Able to argue a case and stand a corner with colleagues by sticking to the facts
  • Has worked in multi-site or multi-country organisations
  • Experience of customer demands
  • Logistics planning and resource allocation
  • Confident to monitor and explain plan adherence, forecast accuracy and detailed scheduling
  • SAP experience is desirable
