Our client is a specialist mini bus manufacturing business supplying bespoke vehicles. They are experiencing sustained growth and now need a capable and experienced Compliance Engineer to join the business, working with senior management to ensure the company meets the principles and rules set by the motor industry regulatory bodies in their target markets and to ensure the company’s current European Whole Vehicle Type Approval (EWVTA) is maintained and updated when required. Working closely with the owner and liaising with a remote Director based at the manufacturing plant in Ireland, the role will be varied and focus on the following:
·Ensure that all current and future vehicles comply with the relevant legislation in their target market.
·Maintain existing EWVTA accreditation and update the accreditation when required for new products and new markets ensuring the company’s vehicles can be registered and sold in existing and target markets.
Key responsibilities will include:
·Working closely with management and provide regulatory guidance and interpretation for product design compliance and strategic product planning.
·Preparing technical representation and presentation for various Regulatory Authorities, Government Agencies and test facilities.
·Providing technical link between sales and production teams on bespoke vehicles.
·Compilation and maintenance of compliance data and the creation of homologation documentation.
·Be fully aware of all relevant homologation regulations for existing and target Markets (i.e. EC Directive 2007/46 – Europe)
To be successful in this role, you will be/possess the following:
·Degree qualified, or equivalent, in automotive engineering or similar technical or engineering discipline.
·Experience in vehicle regulatory compliance/territory homologation is advantageous.
·A general understanding of motor vehicles and their components.
·Experience gained in a private manufacturing company.
·Technically competent, commercial, hands on, team focussed
·Capable of operating in a fast paced environment whilst managing multiple tasks and possess a genuine desire to add real value to the future development of the business.
