Role Overview

The Online Content Designer will be responsible for developing high quality, digital learning assets using a variety of multimedia content (including eLearning, mobile learning, video), to challenging timescales, based on a framework that emphasises social, collaborative and task-based learning. As part of the Learning Solutions team, you must be an excellent communicator with a creative mindset and passion for creating outstanding learning experiences with great results.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Work with key stakeholders (Product Owners, Project Managers, Instructional Designers and Learning Technologists) to design and develop best-in-class digital course content across a wide range of multimedia. This may include, but not limited to: o Creating innovative ideas using computer-based design packages such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects and similar packages.O Animations development (using jQuery/CSS3/HTML)

o UI design and development

o Reusable templates (e.g. for Blackboard landing pages, etc.)

o Creating VR and AR using Googlecard or similar

o Use of rapid e-authoring tools (such as Captivate, Articulate, Adapt, Gomo etc.)

Contribute, hands-on, to everyday queries and maintenance of our Virtual Learning Campus (i.e. Moodle).Monitor and evaluate the quality, consistency and effectiveness of digital learning, processes, guidelines and procedures and make recommendations for improvement as appropriate.Coach, manage and train junior team members as appropriate.Work with the Head of Learning Solutions to help define and iterate upon the AVADO learning/product strategy as appropriate.To join us you’ll need:

Significant experience of operating and achieving results in a fast-paced digital environment, working with multiple stakeholders including Product Owners, Project Managers and Instructional Designers.Mac and PC literate.Deep understanding of a broad range instructional design methodologies, design theory, story boarding and demonstrable experience of applying these concepts.Strong HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and graphic optimisation skills.Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery.Excellent Knowledge of using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects)Animation skills in After Effects/ HTML and CSS.Video editing skills.Understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS.Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.Experienced in designing/developing for mobile / responsive / adaptable.Experience using versioning tools, particularly GIT.Working knowledge of Virtual Learning Environments (Moodle, Instructure, Blackboard etc.)Awareness of the latest developments in digital learning. Specifically, experiential, peer and facilitation-led learning.Specific attributes we’re looking for:
