Introduction to Cambridge Associates

Cambridge Associates (CA) is a leading investment firm providing investment advisory and fiduciary management services to institutional and private clients. We advise across all asset classes, including traditional investments, hedge funds and private investments.

CA was originally formed in 1973 to provide investment research and advice to a group of major university endowments in the United States. Today, 40 years later, the 12 institutions that comprised our original client base are still with the firm. Our client base expanded beyond college and university endowments to include insurance companies, pension funds, foundations, other institutions and private investors. Our fundamental mission also has remained unchanged: we strive to help institutions and private investors around the world meet or exceed their investment objectives by providing proactive, unbiased advice that is grounded in intensive and independent research.

Global Business Development Team

The Global Business Development (GBD) team drives and supports the sales, marketing and client relationship management needs of our business. The group is based across our offices to support clients in different regions. We have a global GBD team serving our clients around the world. Europe, Middle East, & Africa (EMEA) clients are served by the Business Development and Marketing team based in our London office.

The Marketing Executive Role

As we are growing the team, this is an exciting role using broad marketing skills including content creation, events, digital marketing to PR. The Marketing Executive will work with the Head of Business Development and the wider team in Cambridge Associates’ London office. The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter who helps building the Cambridge Associates brand across Europe and its reputation for thought leadership in the marketplace. This position requires exceptional written and verbal communication skills as well as significant interaction with key internal firm representatives and external media and event partners.

Principal Duties

  • Setting and implementing a marketing strategy for different practices across Europe.
  • Implement marketing campaigns and measuring campaign effectiveness.
  • Co-ordinate Marketing campaigns and events through our new CRM system and follow up qualified leads.
  • Collaborate with external event organizers to secure speaking roles for firm experts at industry events and help Investment Directors to prepare. Research conference attendees.
  • Co-ordinate and putting together talking points / content for external conferences.
  • Plan and execute events, roadshows and roundtables.
  • Evaluate industry event invitations and sponsorship opportunities to determine whether additive to business priorities.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with media partners.
  • Work closely with external public relations firm and internal spokespeople to coordinate responses to press inquiries, develop press releases, plan media tours, and manage agenda of PR efforts.
  • Co-ordinate and draft selected award submissions
  • Evaluate industry event invitations and sponsorship opportunities to determine whether additive to business priorities.
  • Help develop digital marketing strategy.
  • Build investment knowledge by reading research reports, global periodicals and other firm publications. Intellectual curiosity will be a defining characteristic.

Experience Requirements

  • Strong background in marketing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Some knowledge of institutional investment marketplace and investment management principles
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and the ability to both collaborate with different teams across the firm and work independently
  • Working with CRM systems
  • High attention to detail
  • Design skill preferable

Qualification Requirements

  • Educated to degree level (BA/BSc or international equivalent)
