Participation Consultant - NHSE (Zero Hours)
YoungMinds Participation Consultants work across the children and young people’s mental health system- supporting local, regional and national organisations to centralise the experience of children, young people and parents and carers in their work. Through gathering insights, developing recommendations and providing organisations with the support they need to implement these we ensure children and families are at the forefront of service design and improvement and commissioning in children and young people’s mental health. Our Participation Consultants are from a range of backgrounds- including the arts, social work, mental health services and the charity sector. They share a passion for young people’s mental health and a commitment to providing every organisation we work with exceptional added value.
We are currently seeking to develop the professional diversity of the Participation Consultancy team and are seeking new Consultants for a range of work areas. To meet the current focus of our work we are looking for consultants with professional experience in the following:
- Clinical roles in children and young people’s mental health (relevant qualifications required)
- Youth justice
- Commissioning e.g. Commissioning Officer
- Work with young people experiencing vulnerabilities including refugee and asylum seeking young people, care experienced young people and black and minority ethnic young people
As part of a flexible team you will bring your professional expertise to assigned projects. These will range in length from short term focussed sets of days to multi-month or year programmes. The consultancy model is designed to enable professionals practising in a range of other areas to bring their knowledge and skills together and create high impact projects that use the participation of children and young people and parents and carers to generate change. It is critical that you can build effective relationships with both children and carers- and professional stakeholders. As a Participation Consultant you will be expected to actively contribute to the development of knowledge and practice around participation in children and young people’s mental health by attending bi-monthly participation communities of practice at YoungMinds.
