Position: Multisystemic Therapy (Standard) Team Supervisor / Manager Location: Leicester, Leicestershire Job Type: Full Time, Permanent Salary: £Competitive About the role: As the Team Supervisor / Team Manager you will lead and manage a team of four therapists in delivering Multi systemic Therapy (MST) interventions according to the specifications and requirements set out in the MST license. MST is a therapeutic approach requiring intensive work with families over a period of 3-5 months. This work is undertaken with complex families where there is a young person between the age of 11-17 living at home and at risk of care or custody as a result of their behaviour. Responsibilities: - Lead an MST team of four therapists in implementing MST, ensuring model fidelity, advise on plans for the formal psychological intervention of young people and their carers in line with the MST principles and process - Advise MST Therapist to act as care coordinator, ensuring the provision of a care package appropriate for the needs of young people and their families / carers - Provide therapeutic skills training in the pragmatic therapy models (structural family therapy, CBT, solution focused intervention) - Lead in utilising theory, evidence-based literature and research to support evidence-based practice with young people, carers and partners - Give high profile to anti –discriminatory practice and to the provision of services appropriate to the user’s particular needs, including their age, gender, sexuality, physical and mental ability, race, religion and cultural heritage - Manages / Supervises allocated human, material and financial resources, including producing the associated protocols and procedures - Evaluate and make decisions about treatment options in line with MST principles, taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual, family, carers or group - Communicate, in a highly skilled and sensitive manner, to clients, family carers and others as appropriate, information that may be contentious or highly distressing concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of clients under their care - Liaise with the national MST research programme, ensuring that the team provide appropriate data and fully co-operate with the programme. Whilst ensuring fidelity to the model of intervention - Reduce the numbers of children and young people age 11-17 being looked after or kept in custody - Ensure the delivery of MST interventions to between 16 / 24 families over 3-5 month time scale - Ensure that the fidelity of the MST programme is maintained at all times - Lead an MST of 4 therapists in implementing MST, ensuring model fidelity - Develop inter-agency partnerships that promote the inclusion of socially excluded young people on the edge of care and custody - Implement and promote policies and procedures relating to all areas of employment and service delivery Essential Skills / Experiences: - Ability to deliver Projects, using formal methodologies which support business change - Ability to demonstrate understanding and empathy to young people and their families / carers - A degree or relevant professional qualification - Knowledge of the MST philosophy - Have knowledge and skill of clinical intervention and psychological based approaches with families - An understanding of child development - Experience of working effectively with others to deliver cross service projects / service - Experience of delivering training to others - Experience of managing an operational service that works complex cases providing clear leadership, decision making and support to individual practitioners - Management of complex programmes and projects and of the successful delivery of required outcomes within allocated resources and budgets - Significant leadership experience in service delivery or operational area - Experience of young people involved with the youth justice system; delinquent behaviour or looked after - Experience of managing and monitoring projects effectively and set clear objectives for the review of individual and service level performance - Able to visit other locations within the county / city / community areas and occasionally further a-field, visit people in their homes, work regularly outside normal office hours - Able to be part of a 24 hour duty system and be available for consultation and occasionally home visits outside office hours - Appointments with a social work qualification must be registered with the General Social care Council or other regulatory body - Driving Licence - Must be able to recognise discrimination in its many forms and willing to put the Council's Equality Policies into practice Desirable Skills / Experiences: - Be able to demonstrate examples where you have been required to solve problems of a complex nature; show innovation; show tenacity and have displayed sensitive interpersonal skills - Experience of managing a multi-disciplinary team of practitioners You may have experience of the following: Team Supervisor, Team Manager, Supervisor, Project Manager, Project Management, Service Delivery Manager, Service Delivery, Service Manager, Care Manager, Service Management, Care Management, etc. This vacancy is being advertised by EasyWeb Recruitment, the UK’s leading Online Recruitment Agency.
