We are looking for an experienced IT Systems Administrator to work with business users and stakeholders.

Roles & Responsibilities:
• To assist in the maintenance of the school’s ICT networks and systems to ensure that they are effective in supporting teaching, learning and administration.
• To provide technical support for all users in order to ensure that they can make optimum use of the School’s ICT networks and systems, associated hardware and software.
• To undertake as directed routine network maintenance including backups at specified intervals, implementing security and virus protection measures, setting up and maintaining user accounts and user groups, and maintaining logs of usage/faults as required
• To test and install new software, hardware and peripherals within level of competence
• To provide second line support role to all site IT technicians.
• To provide maintenance of networks, hardware and software as appropriate to training provided and competence gained
• Monitor repair logs and action work as required
• To check regularly and maintain peripheral equipment such as scanners, printers, whiteboards, projectors to ensure that these are functioning and available to users
• To maintain inventories of equipment as required
• To assist with ordering of equipment, materials and consumables as required, to ensure that value for money is obtained, appropriate levels of stock are held and that replacement supplies are obtained before stock runs out
• To manage, within the constraints of space, the safe, organised and tidy storage of equipment and consumables
• To support teaching and learning by providing technical assistance to staff and pupils, particularly if any equipment malfunctions
• To set up portable ICT equipment as required by staff to support lessons, school events or extra-curricular activities
• To ensure that correct and safe procedures are used during the preparation and setting up of equipment
• To undertake risk assessments for Display Screen Equipment users, and advise on safe use
• To assist with the provision of training sessions for staff, including ICT aspects of induction
• To provide ad hoc assistance/training to staff experiencing difficulties with using hardware or software.

Skills, Qualification & Experience Required:
GCSE (or equivalent) English, Maths, ICT- Essential
Networking or computer engineering qualification (HND or higher)-Desirable
Relevant experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of ICT equipment in a small or medium-sized organisation- Essential
Experience of working in an educational setting-Desirable
Confident user of the majority of desktop applications, including educational software- Essential
Confident user of a range of hardware and operating systems- Essential
Well organised, able to approach work methodically, prioritise and meet deadlines- Essential
Good written and verbal communication skills- Essential
Competent at reading and following verbal and written instructions- Essential
Good interpersonal and team working skills- Essential
Problem solving skills- Essential
A working knowledge of network systems, their installation and maintenance and adaptation- Essential
Can demonstrate good working practices in relation to the handling and usage of ICT equipment - Essential
Awareness of client/server based applications (e.g. MIS system)- Essential
An understanding of child protection issues- Essential
